Tring Radio Celebrates Local Heroes on Local Radio Day
On this year's Local Radio Day, Tring Radio is proud to highlight not just the magic of community broadcasting, but the heartbeats and heroes that sustain our vibrant towns and villages across Herts, Beds, and Bucks.
The team at Tring Repair Cafe took centre stage this year as our top local heroes. Worthy winners for their dedication to their community based initiative fixing household items, anything from a toaster, table, or even a much loved item of clothing at no cost, whilst simultaneously promoting sustainability. They also run a volunteer led cafe alongside the project, inspiring and bringing together the community.
Another of our local heroes is Felicity, (pictured above) whose relentless passion for and dedication to Herts for Refugees resonated deeply with the community, receiving many nominations from our listeners. A trustee for the charity, Felicity's work collecting donations and efforts in supporting refugees was rightfully recognised within our local community.
Meanwhile, Sarah Bedford's (pictured above) first aid training sessions are empowering locals in the community, Sarah who works for the NHS as a resuscitation officer is helping to educate local people and businesses in basic emergency first aid training, giving her time to empower the community.
Choosing from countless listener nominations was challenging, given the sheer number of deserving candidates. Tring Radio Local Heroes is more than an award; it's our way of saying, "We see you, and we appreciate you." Here's to every nominee and winner, for making Tring shine even brighter. 🎙️❤️🏆 #TringRadioLocalHeroes #LocalRadioDay.
