Stereo Underground originated as a Saturday evening broadcast catering to BBC local radio enthusiasts in the southern region. Over time, its popularity surged, expanding far beyond its initial reach. Today, Stereo Underground boasts a substantial audience, spanning not only the southern region but across the entire country. The essence of Stereo Underground revolves around indie classics, alternative anthems, and music from the unconventional fringes. Each week, the show highlights a featured artist and shares engaging gig stories from its dedicated listeners.
Guiding listeners through this musical journey is the esteemed host, Richard Latto. His radio journey commenced in Plymouth and progressed to BBC Radio Devon, where he embraced diverse time slots, learning from fellow presenters along the way. Since its inception in 2006, Stereo Underground has evolved into the most downloaded show on BBC Sounds. Richard has had the privilege of interviewing legendary artists for the show, including John Lydon, Noel Gallagher, and Ian Broudie.
We take immense pride in featuring Stereo Underground on Tring Radio, bringing its captivating blend of sounds to our audience every Sunday evening at 6pm, starting from Sunday, 11th February.
